Escape Academy 2 Back 2 School CHAPTER 3 Walkthrough: Humanities Campus & Achievements

Full Chapter 3 walkthrough for Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School — Humanities Campus puzzles, banned books, the museum artefacts and the Aztec box.

Chapter 3 of Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School sends you to the Humanities Campus, where you'll recover three banned books from the library, ace a quiz in the lecture hall, and crack a multi-layered Aztec puzzle box in the museum. This walkthrough covers every puzzle in the chapter in order, with the specific codes and solutions reported by GameSpew's full walkthrough. Note that some codes are randomised per playthrough — where the source flags a personal solution, we say so.

Before you start Chapter 3

You'll need a little cash. Chapter 3 asks for $10 to buy a crowbar from the science campus store room (after you're given a permit), so if you're short, the source suggests earning money through optional puzzles first. Version and platform details for this chapter are not independently confirmed by the supplied material.

Historic Beginnings

Leave the dormitory and the main building, head down the stairs, and look for the gate to the humanities campus on the left. Go through and talk to Professor Jeberson to kick off the chapter.

Banned Together (Library)

This is the longest section of the chapter. Work through it in this order:

  1. Enter the library and talk to Quanty, just to the left.
  2. Read the book on the left as you enter. A note tells you to read only the even pages. The relevant text describes four figures: Professor Grumble, Pupil Pleasant, Pupil Maxwell and Pupil Saunders.
  3. Rotate the four statues so each faces the correct thing:
    • Grumble and Saunders → etiquette
    • Pleasant → fashion
    • Maxwell → dance
  4. A book rises from the floor. Pick it up — your first banned book: How to Open Doors With a Crowbar.
  5. Find the trolley with four books. Use the "Cluey Decimal System" poster opposite to classify each book in order: religion, biography, philosophy, languages. Input 2914. You'll receive the second banned book: A Primer on Brute-Forcing Puzzles.
  6. Go upstairs. Step on the face drawings on the floor and note which ones creak. A door at the centre of the mezzanine shows all the drawings — click the four that creaked to open it.
  7. Inside is the final banned book: Escape Rooms Are Overrated: A Manifesto.
  8. Return downstairs and hand all three books to Quanty.

Quiz Pro Quo (Lecture Hall)

Leave through the locked door on the other side of the library, follow the path around to the round building, and take the seat marked with the key icon. You can use your in-game laptop to research answers. The source's answer key:

QuestionAnswer
1B
2A
3B
4B
5D

Fill in the quiz sheet beside your laptop.

Unlock and Load (Museum)

Leave the lecture hall and follow the path back past the library to the museum. Talk to Professor Jeberson at the front door — he gives you a crowbar permit. Head to the science campus store room, buy the crowbar for $10, and show the permit when asked. Return to the museum.

In the back room, read the "Identifying Dangerous Crates" sign and identify which three crates are safe to open (ignore the moving crate). Then place the artefacts on the correct exhibits:

ExhibitClueArtefact
1Key to many groundbreaking discoveriesSameer's Shovel
2A 10-gallon thinking capSameer's Hat
3Most powerful when blankFernando's Checkbook
4Far mightier than Exhibit 5Reina's Pen
5Cuts straight to the pointFernando's Sword
6It has a rich ringReina's Bell
7It is a rich ringFernando's Ring
8The mark of a true gentlemanSameer's Mustache Wax

Talk to Professor Jeberson when everything is placed.

Think Inside the Box (Aztec Puzzle)

This is the chapter's centrepiece. The gold chest's combination comes from matching the 12-square lock picture to the 12 squares on the chest — four coloured squares are the answer. Opening it gives you the Aztec Death Whistle.

  1. Use the whistle on the Aztec statue to open it.
  2. Ball puzzle: get four green balls in a row. The source found it easiest to keep switching drop direction, then line up four green balls and drop them together.
  3. Take the Ancient Key from the drawer.
  4. Pipe puzzle on the other side: rotate the green pieces to complete a loop three times, reaching each endpoint.
  5. Take the second Ancient Key, then place both in the eye-shaped keyholes. The top opens, revealing the Jade Snake.
  6. Golden box: place the Jade Snake in the bottom-right recess. Five symbols appear — click the five matching squares on the grid to the left, per the key poster. Take the Folded Fan and Torch Sculpture.
  7. Use the Torch Sculpture on the Lockrates' Box puzzle.
  8. Water-feature side: slide the wooden columns so the symbols and reflections spell EKHO. Collect the three Wedge pieces.
  9. Ramp side: place the wedges in the matching holes, moving the rounded wedge from first to last to reach the top.
  10. Look at the ceiling projection — a constellation of keys.
  11. Oriental box: place the Folded Fan, then collect six coins. Distribute them by the fan's symbols:
    • Tree side: Pronged Coin and Dagger Coin
    • Mountain side: Shovel Coin and Crescent Coin
    • Bird side: Hexagon Coin and Circle Coin
  12. Take the Ancient Compass and equip it. Note the earthquake map: north, east and southwest. Drop the balls into the pot in those directions relative to the compass (its handle points south).
  13. Take the Unusual Star Chart, pin it, and compare it to the ceiling constellation. Identify the three matching pieces (the source's were top left, last on the third row, and bottom left).
  14. Gold chest: move the three tiles in those same positions into the red holes, then click the bottom of the box to complete the room.

Achievements

The supplied source material does not list any achievements, trophies or achievement names for Chapter 3. Any achievement guide for the Humanities Campus puzzles would need to come from a separate verified source — we've deliberately not guessed at unlock conditions here.

FAQ

Are the codes the same for everyone? Not necessarily. The source presents its statue counts, artefact weights and constellation positions as "for us" solutions, so treat those as examples rather than universal answers. Fixed codes like the library's 2914 and the quiz answers are presented as definitive.

Do I need money to finish Chapter 3? Yes — the $10 crowbar is mandatory. The source recommends optional puzzles if you're short.

What order should I do the Humanities Campus tasks in? Follow the story markers: library banned books → lecture hall quiz → museum. The museum's Aztec puzzle only becomes available after the artefact exhibits are completed.

Where do I go after finishing the Aztec box? Chapter 4 begins with Gillian in your dorm room, per the source's chapter structure.
