Escape Academy 2 Walkthrough: Full Puzzle Solutions for Every Chapter
Complete Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School walkthrough with chapter-by-chapter puzzle codes, clues and optional quest solutions.
Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is an open-world escape room game from Coin Crew Games, published by iam8bit Presents, and it tasks you with solving a whole campus worth of puzzles. This walkthrough covers every main chapter from Escape Shack Station through the final escape, plus the optional side puzzles that pay out the money you'll need along the way. All codes below come from a single published playthrough guide, so treat numbers as one confirmed solution rather than the only possible one — some puzzles appear to have fixed answers, while others may vary between players.
Source note: Every step, code and clue in this article is drawn from GameSpew's published walkthrough (gamespew.com). Platform and patch version are not independently confirmed by the supplied material.
Before You Start: Money and Side Quests
Several main-story puzzles are gated behind cash. The guide flags these moments specifically, so it's worth knowing them in advance:
- $3 for the tram ticket in Chapter 1 (three $1 pickups around the station).
- $3 per book at the bookstore in Chapter 1 (two puzzle-locked books are detailed in the guide).
- $17 for Professor Von Bellini's store room shopping list in Chapter 2.
- $10 for the crowbar (plus a permit) in Chapter 3.
- $20 for the theatre ticket in Chapter 5, and $20 again for the lift operators in Chapter 6.
- $20 to recruit the singer in Chapter 7.
If you're short, the guide recommends optional puzzles and loose change found around campus. Those optional quests are covered in a dedicated section at the end of this article.
Chapter 1: Escape Shack Station and the Academy
Escape Shack Station
To board the tram you need $3 and the destination code.
- Inspect the machine near the ticket kiosk. It takes three symbols.
- Compare the coloured lines around each dial (red/yellow, blue/red, blue/yellow) against the tram stops map on your left and find where each pair of lines intersects.
- The confirmed solution was triangle, cog, square, which yields the destination code 9625.
- Collect $1 from inside the phone box, $1 by crawling through the open vent, and $1 on top of the phone box (climb the luggage beside it).
- Buy the ticket, then enter STEAM into the combination lock above the tram doors and pull the lever aboard.
A Clued Awakening
The backpack padlock starts at desk X2 Y2, which shows P and the clue X+1. Follow the chain: X3 Y2 gives A (clue Y+2), X3 Y4 gives T (clue X-2), and X1 Y4 gives H. Enter PATH.
Inside is one of three projector stills. The other two come from the classroom safe (open it using the schedule clues — 8am coffee, 11am karaoke, 1pm jigsaw, 3pm workshop, 9pm hide-and-seek) and from the chest at the back, opened with the key hidden on the poster. Call 772 on the front desk phone to rotate the desk and reveal the middle still. Finally, match the founders' faces to their names on the device to the left.
Locker'd and Loaded, Dorm Sweet Dorm
Talk to Headmaster Solange for your locker key and checklist. Find your portrait on the corridor wall to learn your student number (the guide's was 3517), open the matching locker, and take the $3.
At the dorm door, count the symbols on the three founder portraits (one per floor) for the spade/heart/club padlock. The confirmed code was 346.
Better Book It and Head to Head
The bookshop is beyond the courtyard on the first floor.
- Ciphers from B to A: the code FVSFLB shifted down one letter spells EUREKA.
- Hiding and Seeking: match eye colours to shapes — green is square, brown is diamond, blue is triangle, yellow is circle.
Then head to the third floor and answer the phone in the headmaster's office.
A Surprising Start and That Rings a Bell
The roof door password is worked out from clues gathered by walking back down the stairs. The confirmed answer is STAY AWAY.
On the roof:
- Match the coloured stars' point counts to the coloured lock to free the rope.
- Thread the rope through the handles matching the four printed wall symbols, then look through the telescope. The constellation resembles a CAMEL.
- Collect the small, medium and large cogs and align the arrows. The arrow order is right, down, up, left, right, down.
- Through the telescope, note the shape stack — pentagon, triangle, circle, hexagon, square — and order the planet model right to left.
- Use the cipher table on the clock chest to get LUNAR, take the moonlight, and reveal hidden letters by walking near each purple moon symbol. Order them new moon to full moon to spell ECLIPSE.
- Ride the escalator up, cut the rope with the shears, climb the pendulum ladder, and read the note: "Ring the bells 9795639." With 9 = A and 3 = G, the tune is ACAEDGA.
Chapter 2: The Science Campus
Coop de Grace
Collect the five animal tiles (tortoise, cheetah, octopus, blue whale, howler monkey) and place them by trait: fastest is the cheetah, smartest the octopus, loudest the howler monkey, oldest the turtle, largest the whale. Play the record, then complete the food chain poster. The outlet codes were 9631 (water), 9642 (desert) and 9753 (plains).
For the worm, listen to each bird statue for crickets — the guide's answer was the Clue Jay — then match its wing, beak, tail and body colours to the lock.
Memory Leak
The underlined elements Ar, O and Fe are atomic numbers 18, 8 and 26, giving 18826 for the drain chemicals cupboard. The hazard poster plus the incident report gives 403 for the brain chemicals locker. On the computer, build CH₅NO₃ from five H, three O, one C and one N.
Overengineering Class and Lightbulb Moment
Buy the tubing, gears, model boat and model steam train for $17 and deliver them, then climb the ladder behind the Puzzle Factory.
- Swiss cheese over the feeding chart gives A5, B4, C2, D3 → 5423 for the mouse cage.
- After the maze and slingshot planes, the "closest to furthest" locker is triangle, diamond, circle, square.
- The cheese-wheel sketches produce 9−7, 8÷2, 3×2 and 2+6 → 2468.
- The trampoline portmanteaus: PARMEDDINO = 895, MANCORSAN = 658, CHEMESEGO = 986.
- Rotate the mirrors to hit the poster, then colour-code U = MGH from the spectrum: yellow, orange, red, light blue, purple.
Finish by placing the train tracks and putting Turmeric in the wheel.
Chapter 3: The Humanities Campus
Banned Together
Read only the even pages of the library book to get the statue directions: Grumble and Saunders face etiquette, Pleasant faces fashion, Maxwell faces dance. The trolley books map to the Cluey Decimal System as religion, biography, philosophy and languages → 2914.
Upstairs, step on the creaking face drawings and click the same four on the mezzanine door to find the third banned book.
Quiz Pro Quo
The confirmed quiz answers are 1. B, 2. A, 3. B, 4. B, 5. D.
Unlock and Load
Buy the crowbar for $10 with Jeberson's permit. In the museum back room, identify the three safe crates, then place the artefacts:
| Exhibit | Item |
|---|---|
| 1 | Sameer's Shovel |
| 2 | Sameer's Hat |
| 3 | Fernando's Checkbook |
| 4 | Reina's Pen |
| 5 | Fernando's Sword |
| 6 | Reina's Bell |
| 7 | Fernando's Ring |
| 8 | Sameer's Mustache Wax |
Think Inside the Box
This is the longest puzzle chain in the chapter. Work through it in order:
- Use the lock poster to enter the gold chest's coloured-square combination and take the Aztec Death Whistle.
- Use it on the Aztec statue, then solve the four-green-balls puzzle for the first Ancient Key.
- On the other side, complete the pipe loop three times for the second Ancient Key, then place both in the eye keyholes to get the Jade Snake.
- Place the Jade Snake in the gold chest's recess, then click the five grid squares matching the poster symbols.
- Take the Folded Fan and Torch Sculpture; use the torch on the Lockrates' Box.
- Slide the wooden columns so the symbols and reflections spell EKHO, collecting three wedges. Place them on the ramp, moving the rounded wedge from first to last.
- Read the ceiling constellation, place the fan in the oriental box, and distribute the six coins: pronged and dagger on the tree side, shovel and crescent on the mountain side, hexagon and circle on the bird side.
- Take the Ancient Compass and drop balls toward the earthquake directions (north, east, southwest) relative to a compass whose handle points south. Take the Unusual Star Chart.
- Match three constellation fragments to the ceiling, move the same three tiles into the red holes, and open the chest's final layer.
Chapter 4: Detention
Solvers Keepers and Eyes on the Prize
Direct Gillian using the correct schematic (the guide's was A) with the route south, west, north, north, west, north, east. In the headmaster's office, set the jigsaw pieces (left protrusion down; right top up, bottom right) to open the bookshelf.
The bold words Before, Foray, To Be and See One decode to B4, 4A, 2B, C1 — shield, fly, disco ball and valve. Following the Reshelfing Rules, pull the palindrome-titled books listed in the guide to pass through and take the glasses.
Pay Close Detention
Rearrange the "Giving Spoilers" tiles into the largest number, 9542, and open the corridor locker for the UV Light. Combine the gum, yarn and hook into a fishing rod, fish out the Warden's Key, free your friends, then use the UV blackboard arrows to orient the lights around the main door.
Through the Looking Grate
The founders' portraits spell LIARS — enter it on the courtyard tree. Down the hole, the correct paths are spades, hearts, clubs. Rebuild the plaque to read: "This chamber was built for ALISTAIR BELL the FOUNDER of DIAMONDS. He was IMPRISONED here for his BETRAYAL against THE ACADEMY," then pull the lever for the map.
Chapter 5: The Arts Campus
Casting a Wide Net
Judge the auditions against the Audition Sides sheet. The guide's results:
- Pretty Rough: Phoebe Geebys, Brenda Flops, Garth Dolomew, Vincent VanStop
- Got the Stuff: Link Lockin, Edie Quill, Debra Cadabra, Tyler Vouch
Role assignments: Peter → Tyler Vouch, Chet → Link Lockin, Ruby → Debra Cadabra, Detective → Edie Quill.
Suit Yourself and the Dance Studio
Pair the fabric letter parts to spell YARM for the scissors, cut out the moustache, then solve the two dress locks — 26013 by height and 21306 by rainbow order. Patch the cape with pieces in the order bottom, third, top, fourth, second.
At the Dance Studio, perform Cipherston, Lockbox Step, Clue-pid Shuffle and Escape Vine, noting the mirror numbers. The guide's code was 3258.
Death of an Artist
Buy the $20 ticket. "Dress for the job, head to toe" gives hat 4, glasses 0, coat 6, shoes 9 → 4069 for the Escapist's Edge can. Peter Hintz lives at 30 Arson Avenue, and the murder weapon is a knife in the kitchen cabinet (the three portraits looking at it match the atom, medal and wand symbols).
Sort the note drawings by size (apple, squirrel, flamingo, car, elephant, dinosaur) and read their letters to spell SECRET for the mailbox key.
A Monumental Discovery and the First Chamber
Behind the 40-piece gate, the colour lock uses names on the wall of names: OLIVE, RUBY, BROWNstone, VIOLETte, WHYTE. Follow the footprints and decode the symbols to spell UNMASK.
In the first chamber, collect the skeleton key, oil, ink, wine and honey. On placards I–V, the odd ones out are flamingo (2), horse (5), sun (4), hammer (3) and recorder (5). Pour the four liquids into the jug and copy the colour order on the chest lock for the Stone Tablet.
Fill in the statue text: in 1783, Sameer Gaspard unearthed an ancient Escapist tablet in Greece, showing how brains and lightning unlock immortality. Reina Wym thought it nonsense, Fernando Augustin was frightened, and Alistair Bell became obsessed.
Chapter 6: Storms and the Sea
A Storm Approaches and Quanty: Rebooted
Record air on the roof (90 in the guide), water by jumping into the gap (170), and smell near the bins (10). The weather tower board answer was 26.
For Quanty, decode the postbox: largest 111 = down, smallest 001 = left, prime 011 = up, equals-five 101 = down. Move down, left, up, down to get the chips, then form the crown pattern and enter CROWN. The chips spell 2973, and the graph chart converts CROWN to 86143 and 2973 to MAIN.
Von Boyage
Pay $20 for the lift. The nautical flags read "I STOP SCURVY" → LEMON. Move the barrels down, left, left, up, thread the rope through BLASTED, and use the shape-matching letters (712 in the guide) for the cannonball. Load the cannon, light the fuse, then enter port, aft, port, fore on the pink chest.
Combine wind and current charts to reach the top-right clear square, note the life-vest directions (north west, south west, north east, east), spin the wheel to spell SAVE, and load the life vest, flares and rations. The maze colour code was yellow 2, green 5, blue 6, red 9.
Dark Tidings and the Second Chamber
At night with your glasses on, collect six Alchemical Tiles (two by the pink rocks, two under the pier, two at the far end) and slot them in mirrored number order. Select bull, crab and lion for Taurus, Cancer and Leo.
In the second chamber, weigh the king's items: apple 220, crown 2000, scepter 1000, plus a second apple → 3440. Then solve the club-position chest and the coin chest for the Meeting Invitation, and complete the statue text: 35 years, growing old, fall apart, science, the brain storm, an invention.
Chapter 7: Music, Art and Secrets
Banding Together
- Pianist: play E; then D; then E, C, G.
- Drummer: snare twice, bass, crash cymbal, floor tom.
- Trombone: pull out to circle, pentagon, square, triangle, hexagon.
- Singer: pay $20.
Rest in Paint
Complete the pottery pattern, count the stars, spirals and moons (3, 4, 2 in the guide) for the locker, and rotate the drawing stencil colour by colour to sketch a lion. Enter LION for the Shapes Stencil, then apply stencils A–D to the canvas.
Deciphering Melodies
Arrange the notation so each box equals one whole, then run the Unmarked Diagram through the Reveal-a-Tron for the Guitar Strum Chart. Decrypt the note in the Decrypt-o-matic 6000, then set the notes: B, then −3 to F, +4 to C, +1 to D, −3 to A, +4 to E. Play B, F, C, D, A, E on the marble xylophone and hand in the Alma Mater sheet music.
Pushing Up Daisies
The fertilizer shapes were square, triangle, heart, triangle. Grow the Lockscombs, Popkeys and Cluebells, then match the wreath poem's colour combinations.
A Well-Kept Secret
Enter HISTORY at the statue for the Stone Tablet, then solve the four footprint locks:
- Two eyes and moon (yellow): +4−3+2 = 3
- Three yellow stars: +1+1+1+2 = 5
- Red eye and key: +2−1+1 = 2
- Green sun: +3+2+3 = 8
The Third Chamber
Reassemble the wall picture, then read the pointed-to values: spades 5, hearts 7, clubs A, diamonds 3 → 57A3. Match the broken stained-glass panels to the floor letter grids to spell TIME. For the candles, the burn order is Sheep, Beef, Palm, Bee, Whale.
Complete the statue text: a student in the other seat, the device stole their youth, Alistair's transformation was evil, he was jailed, then memory gassed with the student body. Fernando stopped speaking and died of a broken heart; Sameer left on the Ruddy Herring for India.
Off the Rails
Load gears: L then XL in the middle, S then M on the left, S on the right. The Pan Technique poster orders the gemstones (spark tool, dark tool, stone-breaking tool, head-covering tool). Place the yellow square top, orange middle, pink right, red bottom. Reading the lantern colours against the triangle spells DUSTY backwards.
Move the lever from circles to three triangles, then to circle and square, then to the hexagon. After the crash, use the Old Keyring and solve the water puzzle (3241) and the ball puzzle (top 2, middle 3, bottom 1). Rotate the gems: red 9, yellow 2, blue 3, green 8 → 9238.
Chapter 8: The Final Escape
Eye of the Brain Storm
The stepping-stone tiles spell OPPOSITE; the opposite of REMEMBER is FORGET. Arrange the diamond cards so each row and column equals 15, then read the lit cards (1, 5, 8, 3) for the safe and the Brain in Jar. Place the brain in vat C and match brainpower values: elephant 16, monkey 9, man 19, rat 12.
In the pod chamber, the dot markings give 1, 6, 4, 3, 5, 2 — opening pod 19.
Mind Your Elders
This key-and-bridge sequence is the trickiest part of the finale. The guide's route:
- Take the Blue and Red Keys, use the Blue Key for the cannonball, then reuse it on the "1" chest for the lighter. Blow the wall open.
- Collect two more Red Keys and Reina Wym's Final Words (1/4).
- The "9" bridge needs keys totalling nine edges — Blue plus the two-diamond Red Key.
- On the bandstand, take Final Words (2/4) and a Green Key. Swap keys: the "13" bridge needs the two-diamond Red and five-sided Red Keys.
- Up the stairs, take the Color Diagram and a triangle Red Key. The pink-square bridge uses Red and Blue.
- Grab Green and Blue Keys, zipline to the ship for Final Words (3/4), then zipline to the sideways tower for another Green Key.
- Rework the bridges: the "9" bridge takes the nine-sided Green Key and the circular Blue Key (0 sides); the "8" bridge takes the two-triangle Red Key and one-point Green Key (eight edges and yellow).
- The "6" box takes your remaining Red, Blue and Green Keys for Final Words (4/4).
Return to the giant Alistair Bell, show him the letter, then head to the Upper Arts Campus and speak to Headmaster Solange to complete the story.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a confirmed list of every code? The supplied source lists specific codes for each puzzle it covers, but several are presented as "our solution," which suggests some may vary per playthrough. Use the codes as a first attempt and fall back to the in-game clues if they don't work.
How much money do I need to finish the main story? Adding the gated purchases above gives roughly $116 across the campaign, though you may find loose change and optional quest payouts reduce the grinding.
What platform is Escape Academy 2 on? Not confirmed by the supplied material. The source credits Coin Crew Games and iam8bit Presents but does not list platforms or a patch version.
